Melkmeid Regular
TYPE DESIGN
Another wide, inverted contrast typeface, with a sharp stroke in its generous serif: The Melkmeid font is a tribute paid to the mesmerizing steady milk trickle poured in Vermeer's painting. A regressive translation of that sapid contrast inherent to dairy products, the melting point between sweet and sour, fat and liquid. Mild flares bring some creamy delights to the finesse of the stems, while thick arms and legs strongly settle the capital letters in their height.
The Melkmeid caracter stands as a typical servant from Kitchen Pieces, but also embodies a pleasure figure; so does this display font designed for elegant titling applications that can turn into a functionnal body text typeface as well.
Melkmeid font is a work in progress that aims to become variable.
